Miami-Dade County Commission has approved the Little River District, a $3 billion mixed-use development in Little River and Little Haiti. Covering 63 acres, it will provide over 5,700 affordable and workforce housing units, retail spaces, and a new train station. Construction starts in 2026, with an eight-year timeline. The project aims to create 3,840 construction jobs and 518 permanent positions, generating approximately $9.5 billion in revenue for the county to address the affordable housing crisis and support local businesses.
